Tania’s art honors all women, with a main focus on indigenous women. Having indigenous roots herself (born and raised in Perú) has given her the opportunity to experience the world in a way that has pointed out the need women of color have to be heard and represented.

Her subject matter taps into the connection that women have with nature and the world around us. She uses Surrealism to depict these connections to natural elements such as water and light. She calls this Indigenous Surrealism. She also brings awareness to facial features that are not generally considered favorable for a woman’s beauty. She invites viewers to embrace their natural features whether they come from indigenous heritage or not. We are all beautifully unique.
